NFRN HAS MEMBERS COVERED WITH FREE PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
The NFRN has further enhanced its package of member benefits with the launch of new free personal accident cover for all full or partner members.
This new scheme, which is provided in partnership with AON and launched on February 1st, gives all full and partner members who are resident in the UK and Republic of Ireland personal accident cover as part of their annual subscription package. Within the UK general insurance market this policy could cost around £100 per person.
Announcing the new benefit, NFRN National President Naresh Purohit said: “Good insurance cover is a necessity for anyone operating in today’s challenging environment. We are delighted to be offering our members such as important new benefit.”
General Manager Paul Chambers added: “The NFRN prides itself on giving members the best value for their membership but we are always striving to find even greater benefits. We believe this latest offer is one of the most valuable yet and the beauty is that all members are automatically covered.
“This new cover, combined with our practical support and strong commercial deals, means that NFRN membership has never been such an attractive proposition for news and convenience retailers.”
What you need to know
What is Personal Accident Insurance?
Personal Accident insurance provides you and your business with a safety net if a full or partner member of the NFRN is killed or seriously injured while completing their normal occupational duties, travelling on behalf of the business or while commuting to or from their regular place of work. This insurance can cover the costs incurred to keep the business running.
Proof of negligence is not required. Provided the incident occurs as a result of completing normal occupational duties or commuting, cover will be provided.
So what are Occupational Accidents?
These are defined as being while engaged on the occupation of the business and include travelling on behalf of the business or assault.
In the event of a claim occurring where negligence is also present, the policy will respond as normal, however, whereas a successful Employers' Liability claim will be paid directly to the injured party, the Personal Accident policy will make payment directly to the policyholder.
Who is covered?
With effect from 1st February 2009, any Full Member , Partner Member or Associate Member resident in the UK and ROI will benefit from this cover as part of your annual subscription package.
Within the UK General Insurance market, this policy would cost upwards of £100 plus Insurance Premium Tax per person.
