Take AIM with the NFRN

The news and magazine department of your shop is one of the key areas of your business and has a vitally important part to play in withstanding the competitive pressures of the multiples.

To help members maximise their magazine sales and profits, the NFRN has developed an exciting new initiative called AIM - Accurate Independent Marketing. In short, we are inviting both publishers and members to take AIM and score with the NFRN.

AIM, which launches in February, replaces the NFRN's BlockBuster sales club, which was hugely successful for four years, but needed to change given recent tough market conditions, reduced publisher in-store promotional expenditure and falling compliance from members.

One of the beauties of this new initiative is that it will enable more retailers to get involved - at different levels.

Just like the target (above), the new offer is three tiered:

The red outer circle will allow publishers to communicate their brands and titles to all NFRN members in a number of ways including The Fed magazine, Homelink, NFRN online and member attended events such as local trade shows and CTN World.

The blue circle will be a written magazine marketing club, communicating anything related to magazines to any interested NFRN member.  These members will receive a monthly bulletin packed with product information and ideas on how to get the most from magazines.  Members in this section can also be targeted by publishers yet reserve the right not to comply, addressing the concerns over early returns and value for money.

The inner yellow circle is the new look magazines promotions club.  Members of this will be pre-selected and, having achieved a strict set of requirements, will become beacons for other members to strive to and learn from.  These members will receive annual payments based on their compliance with the schemes requirements.

Current Blockbuster members will have already received details on how this change will affect them.
