BIGGER THUNDERBALL ROLLS IN STORE

National Lottery operator Camelot's  hugely-popular Thunderball game is about to get even bigger, with an increased top prize, a new prize tier, an extended number range and a  new Friday draw – all for the same price of £1.

thunderball Players will now have the chance to win up to £500,000 on a £1 game and also offers a new £3 prize for simply matching the Thunderball number.  The main number range is extended to 39 numbers, while the overall offs of winning a prize have shortened from 1 in 18 to 1 in 12.

Camelot say that together with the new Friday draw, the changes will mean more players win more often – and give retailers a fantastic opportunity to boost their bottom lines.

Tickets for the new-look Thunderball will go on sale from this Sunday  May 9 – with the first draw on Wednesday  May 12 and the first Friday draw taking place on  May 14.

There will be an eight-week countdown leading up to the first new Thunderball draw. After March 17, players will be able to buy tickets in advance for the current game for the maximum period of eight weeks. Each week thereafter, players will only be able to buy tickets in advance for the number of weeks remaining until the first draw of the new-look game.

To help its retail partners make the most of the great new sales opportunities, Camelot is providing all of its outlets with a full package of point-of-sale and advertising support – including player leaflets, retailer-facing terminal cards and new Thunderball playslips featuring the new Friday draw – to help them promote the new-look game. A multi-million pound TV, radio and national press advertising campaign will also run from  May 9 to June 4.

Duncan Malyon, Sales Director at Camelot, said: “ These fantastic changes will make the already hugely-popular Thunderball game even more exciting for players, with the chance to win a life-enhancing £500,000 top prize.

“It’s also winning news for all of our retailers. Thunderball has mass appeal and a loyal player base, so more chances for players to win means bigger sales for them. To make the most of this golden opportunity, all our retail partners need to do to boost their sales – and their own commission – is to take full advantage of all of the free point-of-sale material we are providing, and talk to their customers about the amazing chance to win half a million pounds three times a week.

“Our retailers have played a vital role in helping us to raise over £24 billion for the Good Causes to date, and we want to build on this exceptional achievement. The comprehensive package of support we’re offering for the new-look Thunderball game underlines our ongoing commitment to our retail partners. We want to help them add even further value to their businesses by boosting their lottery sales – and so help us to deliver even more money for the Good Causes.”
