NFRN VICE PRESIDENT APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF NATIONAL BUSINESS CRIME FORUM

NFRN Vice President Parminder Singh has been elected the first Chairman of the National Business Crime Forum (NBCF).

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Singh said “Rising crime and the safety of small businesses is an issue of real concern to me so I am delighted to have been appointed the first ever chairman of this very important national forum. As an independent newsagent I have had first hand experience of retail crime over the many years I have owned and operated my own shop and during that time levels of retail crime have increased – spurred on by the recession. I therefore welcome the opportunity to spearhead this national forum and I am very focused on working with my colleagues to get to grips with business crime trends.”

Since joining the NFRN – Europe’s largest retail trade association - in 1991 Mr Singh has held every office at branch and district level.  He was appointed Deputy Vice President in 2008 and is the current chairman of the NFRN’s Public Affairs Committee.  Mr Singh becomes National President of the NFRN in June this year.

He is also a member of the governing body and regional assembly of Business Voice WM, a West Midlands pressure group.

The National Business Crime forum has been set up to reduce levels of business crime at both local and national level and to co-ordinate, facilitate and promote improved links between businesses and the government and police authorities.
