Profitable night at Hancock's for Manchester members
Over 40 members and their families benefited from a recent open night at the Manchester depot of Cash and Carry wholesaler Hancock's, organised by the North West District.
Ahead of the evening members from Manchester, Oldham, Rossendale, Salford and Wigan had been mailed details of special offers, ranging from Bonfire Toffee and Fireworks to Coke, and there were plenty of offers on the night, such as boxes of Walkers crisps at £1.00 per box. All these offers were exclusive to Federation members.
Confectionery suppliers had been invited to the event, and for the Cadbury and Nestle representatives in attendance, there was the chance to talk about offers and new product lines as well as to give away samples.
NFRN Retail Development Managers Alan Aspinall and Chris Vickers were on hand to talk to members on all aspects of the Federation and make sure every one got the best out of the evening.
Hancock's depot Manager Roy Ward and his staff made sure members took advantage of the opportunities available and highlighted special seasonal offers, and new innovative ideas for selling confectionery lines.
Stockport Branch President Mike Mcphee said "This was our first visit to Hancock's and we found the large range of sweets ideal for our business. Many items were cheaper than I can get from my normal supplier and we managed to get a large quantity of tube sweets for our kids Christmas charity event at very reasonable prices. The night was well organised and we found Hancock's staff very friendly."
Elsie Lowe said that she had enjoyed the chance to meet other members and old friends.
Dave Kirwin, one of the organisers and former National President said "This was a fantastic night for NFRN members to pick up ideas on how to attract new customers into their shops and in particular to make themselves aware of product lines that they otherwise would never have known about.”
Roy Ward, Hancock's Manchester Manager, said they had registered 14 new customers which was very worthwhile and was entirely due to the NFRN organisation.
Further events are planned for the future with Hancock's in Manchester and Preston.
